  • JP Importer wants back in, but... Region issues.

I imported this game long ago, before the NA release. Then I had to buy two of whatever came out due to regions. I have a high level character and would only make a new account if I could have a male mithra ().

Have they changed anything at all that may help me? (Regions no longer matter or character/account transfers?)

I really want to change my Sam/Rng into a Cor/Rng with his own chocobo... Sounds fun. (Though, I do not have as much time as I used to.)

(Playing WoW on/off, there is no community in that game. Slightly fun, with some of my friends.)

Region still matters, unfortunately. And there have yet to be any character transfers allowed. (Save to new servers, or the recent one from the 360 Beta Server).

Damn, not sure if it is worth the hassle and money to import and such. Wish they never had regions as part of accounts. So it is Japanese Translations for the account setup and about $80 for the expansion. (Considering the imported JP and NA price together.)

This is part of the reason I quit. Perhaps I will just hold off for "Male Mithra" or another race and buy some NA package deal later... *shrug* Though, I do have a thing for Black Chocobo and Revolvers.

Rather than post a new thread, I will ask here.

        ----------

        "WARNING!!

Your Account has been temporarily closed due to problems with the member information verification procedure. Please log in from a Japanese copy of the PlayOnline Viewer for further details. (LM-13)"

        ----------

Is there any way to change the text of the Japanese PlayOnline to display as English?

I decided I have no problem using my JP account, I want to play this again without making a new character. Simplifying my account setup is all that I ask now.

(If the answer is false, I will simply use the use the Translation Pages here.)

Further: If an admin finds this to be worthy of a tech thread, please tell me or move it. Which ever you prefer.

Re: JP Importer wants back in, but... Region issues.

I have been moving all over this country the past year and have decided to come back to FFXI. Though, I have left my JP POL CD in Utah. /sigh

I have searched for a *gasp* Torrent, but have only found full versions of the JP FFXI which will not go so well with my 56k on a P2P network. (Not to mention the threat of infection.)

Q: Is there a method to "tricking" my US POL into thinking it is a JP POL, or perhaps a program with the same effect. (Still, an unofficial program running alongside any Account based software makes me uneasy...)

With my current situation my CD in Utah is just about as far as an import from Japan. I may just have to wait a while. (I have done all I can to keep myself busy on Oblivion, 100% complete.)

It is a shame I cannot manage my account. Though, with a 56k connection it would be hard to play. (Living without an address is hard for an import of the newest expansion as well.) I will have to wait.

I will keep this information on tweaking my JP POL on hand. Thank you. ^^ ありがとう。。。

Nvm about the JP POL... SE told me my character was deleted.

So, I will be out looking for a new NA account soon. Hopefully the local store has some good prices.

Fine, fine... I'll play again, but only for the "chickens".

Right, I am stuck in a Budget Suites for a few months with only "dial up". Oblivion gets old after you do everything (Though I love being a sexy Mystic Elf Vampire NecroBlade with Braided Armor, I know it sounds goth or emo. Shut up, I can't be evil with flowers in my hair. Or can I? ) and I just beat GRAW on hard.

Q: I have heard that this game runs very well on 56k, but I do not trust those people... They could be lying just to make me suffer a five day patch-a-thon.

Really, I am just looking for clarification. If I bought the Family Meal of FFXI on DVD-ROM and the new expansion. How long would I likely have to patch and would I even be of any use in PTs?

                PS: Using AOL... /sigh

                ::EDIT::

Just bought the game on impulse... Joining Ragnarok. See you in-game.

Why were you buying both imported and domestic discs? I've only ever had to buy the JP PS2 discs, since I have so many local friends that play that I can just borrow the NA discs to install on PS2, and make disk images of the NA PC discs. I mean, that wasn't the brightest idea if you weren't at least selling the NA registration codes, or splitting the cost of the NA copy with a friend so they could use the expansion codes and the install discs... You shouldn't even have to buy the game again if you still have all those unused NA codes.

If you have to log into the Japanese client to deal with an error, that error is always going to be in Japanese. That means you take a screenshot and have someone here translate it if you don't fluently understand enough Japanese to translate it yourself. Problems with Japanese accounts belonging to importers usually end in the account being deleted though. Any sort of billing problem, and you having a fake Japanese address attached to your account, and you can't deal with the paper bill you need to settle in Japan to get the account activated again. That's the risk we all took by using a fake address to get into the game early.
