For one, new items, like the Empress Band.
Levelling areas have expanded, yes, but mostly high-level (57+), in Aht Urhgan. I'm 56 at the moment, I've been doing qufim -> yuhtunga -> yhoator -> altep -> garlaige -> CN -> et cetera just like in the old days. People seem to be more open to exping in non-standard areas, but you won't have trouble finding parties in the same old places.
The anti-train patch is a godsend! CN and Garlaige are mercifully free of clumps of angry monsters waiting to munch on the first adventurer to enter the zone. Yhoator jungle is a safe haven; no hiding is required while the goblins reset.
Noobs are, as ever, prevalent.
Prices elevated enormously due (I guess) to RMT. That bothered me for all of five minutes. Then I realized that everything I wanted to sell was also worth ten times as much and that everything was, in fact, easier - 500k for an airship pass, you say? Peasant.
While I own both expansions, I can count the number of times I've needed to go to either place so far on the fingers of one hand. It's by no means a necessity, although it IS damn neat.
