I quit FFXI in summer of 2004... I started since day one. Since then I've played Ryzom, EQ2, GW, DoD... just to name a few (never WoW). Something bugs me about those games.. something I don't get from those compared to when I played FFXI.
My character name was Devnull. Decent level... RDM51/WHM50/BLM26. Now due to the recent release of 360 version of FFXI and one of my good friend is going to get this game tomorrow, I am thinking strongly about coming back. I lost my reg ID so I'd have to start over... I rather start over; fresh slat.
I've been reading on FFXIOnline forums. FFXI still have economic problems, that was the biggest thing drove me away from this game. But FFXI still is home for me... I don't know why.
I talked to couple of my buddies (we all started since day one U.S. PC release) and they are considering about coming back well... but with their old characters (Seras, Mijikai). I had a lot of fun playing with the old folks. I made good friends on Lakshmi as well... Pizzafan, Bane... many others etc. Bane quit before I did... not sure if Pizzafan still plays (you stupid DRG75 )
Now... from what I've heard that economic system is do-able if time taken to farm stuff or craft. Have those systems got improved as well? I know SE is cracking down on gil sellers/buyers. I never really got into crafting before, takes too much money and time(?) Think this time I'll pick it up. Just wondering what's some of better ways to make some gil?
Hows the fundamentals of the game? I assume still the same, I knew them like back of my hand... hope nothing changed.
Finding PTs... Still hard at moderate levels? It was painful after lvl30-ish or so... (Remember one time I was RDM43 and spent almost 3hrs before a PT and yes, I have refresh).
I read couple a Thom's threads and he said Lakshmi is getting quite boring... Oh well. I might hit up server Kujata... that's where my 360 friend is going.
My main point is... regardless all other MMORPGs I've been through (can't really count GW...) FFXI is still home at heart.
