Veteran FFXI returning to game with X360 beta

I had the uppertunities to acquire the latest OXM magazine to enable be to play FFXI once again. I played FFXI when it initaly release in NA. I was a Galka War 50 / Sam 30 / Mnk 15 / Paladin 15 / Summoner 15 / Blm 15 / Bst 15. (yes i almost level every subjob). Needless to say at the time I was playing, Galka war/sam were the least invited class in PT. I hard a hard time finding group and was spending most of my days farming or waiting in Jeuno.

This time I have decided to go Taru WHM / BLM until 30 to do BRD/WHM. I might be temped to do SMN too. So if there is any other X360 beta tester out there, send me a /tell in game.

Well, I did play for a year when it came out in NA. Of course the level cap back then was level 65. I did start to do some of my AF and I was Rank 5 when I left the game. There was no love for Galka War/Sam when I played.

Can you please define veteran for me ?

Playing from NA release is a verteran to me. lol.^^

I'm in the same scenario. You're gonna be surprised how much inflation has changed the AH.

When I left the game Zinc ore was 400gil, now it was 6k when I came back o_O.

Back in the ole day 1mil used to be alot lol

Just something i noticed, which is really funny. If you call yourself a veteran as War/sam level 50 rank5 in Lower Jeuno you get laughed at XD. But yea, this post is probably not about wheter you're a veteran or not anyway, i just laughed at your post.

I think comming back to FFXI on Xbox360 is same like comming back on PC version again... but Xbox360 sure shows some more graphics o.O. I'm actually gonna get a Xbox360 just for FFXI.. even though i have PC. But yea, my graphics card sucks(nVidia Ge-Force Mx440 64mb). Was new when i bought it. XD

My ls started to lose player at a rapid rate and I wasn't able to complete rank 6-7 before I finally quit. They did had ninja when I left. I hate that darn quest when you have kill leeches in the Tunnel to altepa. I did all the subjob quest. I even level my Galka as a summoner just for fun.

You have to remember the level cap was 65 at the time. So 50 was a good accomplishment. Of course it was not the level cap and some will argue the game only start when you have reach the cap. As a warrior as I was still able to tank beetle in the desert and do reasonably good. I was no ninja/pally but I was a good alternative until we find a ninja/pally. Ninja were only started to be used as tank. So mostly pally was the perfect choice for pt.

I might be a noob again which is not neccesary a bad thing. At least i won't have to go to qufim for another 16 level.

The X360 plays really well except the fonts are a bit hard to read. The games is extremly smooth and the draw distance is great. You won't regret your choice.

Things sure has change. The welcome comitee used to be alot friendlier. Anyway, Call me a noob if you want and i'll see you online on X360.
