should I wait for expansion?

Since I cant get back my account, been pondering over whether I should get the current Vanadiel Collection or wait till the new expansion's out and get the newer Collection (if there is)..

Havent got to see its release date anywhere.. Only read from somewhere it was supposedly in March? Do they compile a new collection after an immediate release anyway?

Need help deciding the above..

That's not a bad idea. I'm almost in the same boat as you... although I'm not sure I can wait 'til March to play again. I'm craving FFXI something fierce and hope to get going again in the next week or so.

I suppose, if you can wait 'til March to play, then you might as well wait. I'm certain that if they're putting out a new expansion, they'll do everything they can to ensure people can pick up the game easily and play again. Even if its not as a collection of all expansions, then at least they'll send out more coppies of the Game with the current two expansions.

Hands down, I can say that the game won't come with the third expansion when it's released in march. Unless you wanna wait another 5-6 months for all 3 expansions to come w/ the game, I would get the game now and pay the extra money down the road.

Hey~ Appreciate the feedback u guys gave.. They only serve to make me more intent on getting the game now. hee..

Am really craving to get into the game myself.. Guess I should resist it no more..

I wouldn't wait for the expansion. More than likely, everything in that expansion won't be available to lower level players anyway. So if you waited for it, you would probably just end up installing it and never experiencing anything from for months until you were high enough level anyway.

Like Arcadia and Akapoko said, its going to be a while after ToAU release before they have a collection of FFXI plus all three expansions. CoP came out in Aug '04, but I dont think the Vanadiel Collection came out until spring '05 at the earliest. (may have been summer, can't remember for sure).
If the money importance is more important, go ahead and wait (but it will probably be the end of the year before they have a combined package of it all), but I'm guessing you really want to play and waiting 2 months was going to be rough on you, so go ahead and get it now and curb the addiction fit.

I remember hearing ToAU was going to be released at 29.99 seperately and you could buy it packaged with FFXI + Expansions for 49.99. Unsure where I got it from, but I think Square made an annoucement on their website(Not playonline.com)

hee.. I've just got hold of the Vanadiel collection a few days ago. Just couldnt resist it..
Cant play it yet though, cuz of my large work load now.. but at least I've got the game.. Am happy just seeing it right infront of me.. Would be happier once I've the chance to rejoin Vanadiel...

start early and level yourself up if you really want to enjoy the expansion when its released. At least 30... Im guessing you'll need 30 to try the 2 new jobs too.
