Another return to FFXI question.. help!

Hi! I have another 1 of those questions on returning to FFXI.. been over a year now and I sure miss it alot..
By any chance, if I did not delete my POL ID account, will it get deleted? Cuz I kept attempting to connect via my old POL ID and it keeps giving me "Incorrect PlayOnline ID or password"

Does the above mean I'll have to buy a new FFXI package? Really miss the good old days..

I quit for about a year and a half. All I did was cancel my content id's and not my POL account and was able to get back on no problem. If you never canceled your POL account you should be able to get back on.

What are the actual steps to reactivating the account? After reinstalling back POL from my old disc and connecting it online, it gets updated. But I only see the following menu bars:
Member list, Information, Guest Login, Add member, Check files, Join PlayOnline, Network settings, quick manual, exit viewer

Am I actually missing something or doing the wrong steps?

Sighz.. attempted to reactivate.. but I just cannot remember 1 piece of the information I entered into my POL registration ages ago.. thus unable to verify account due to that 1 info..

Anyway, if an account has been unsubscribed for too long, does it equate to being unable to reactivate? The SE representative gave the above reason for my friend's attempt to reactivate.. And he actually left the game a few months later than me..
