I'm sure you're right, I used to like my LS, but there was such an immense amount of drama it's not even funny...so I got annoyed with that and I just wanted a break from XI originally, now I feel like playing again though...so I'll have to venture out as a 1/something and hope some kindly LS picks me up. X3

you can't really screw a job IMO, scrolls can be obtained anytime. Having them as soon as you level is nice, but going back to get them isn't bad either. Unless you're talking about getting to level 20 having only stone.

I had a good time with my guild in WoW and as soon as they broke up, the game felt instantly no fun anymore. So I totally understand that feeling. Being disconnected in a sense. Anyway if you've established good relationship with friends you should still be able to keep them in touch and get into their social LS tho.

Well, I didn't have much choice in the matter since I've been gone over a year, my characters were deleted. But I find I am having fun again, so its no big loss (other than the items I had, like Leaping Boots, Emp. Hairpin, Kote and the gil). I figure all that stuff can be collected again, although I am playing a mage this time around (was a Galka rng/mnk/war/sam last time). Anyone know of any good guilds taking 'noobs' on Hades?

Hrm...I'm really wanting to get back onto XI now and I suppose another reason I've found not to use my old char is I kinda just don't feel connected with him...I hope other people know what I mean. I just want to start again and on a new server, as a fresh start, try a new race and classes, what not. Reading about XI again and checking out these forums have got me all fired up again. :3

My character is beyond recovery now... but I don't think I could stand to join the game again unless I bought gil. Getting exp is easy, even fun. Genkai and the other necessary quests are enjoyable. Farming millions of gil for the things you need to be "adequate" is... horrible.

About the time ToAU was announced I'd been looking for a new game to devour my spare time. Enter the Blue Mage teaser video. Ok, all fired up for FFXI again. I find my old server's community on KI. Seems I'm missed and I'd be welcomed back. Also seems prices on things I'd wanted were far higher than I remembered. And crap I used to farm is about the same. After a month or so my enthusiasm had evaporated.

And yet I keep coming back to this site... what the hell is wrong with me,? ><;

Hehe, my poor Mithra... I still regret ditching her! @_@ But, it's not so bad starting over again, it is a game so what can happen? Not to mention, think of it as a whole new novel you have to write, sorry, I like writing so I thought that would be a good simile.

I look at it more like it's a favorite book to read again. Granted, I won't start over AGAIN, but when I did have to, it wasn't so bad. I felt so much more comfortable in the decisions I made concerning what jobs to lvl and what gear to buy because with a game this immense, when you first go through it you make mistakes. Maybe mistake is too harsh a word, but the first time through I wasn't nearly as efficient in every aspect of the game as I was the second time around.

if you want to start over, sure go ahead. just make sure it's what you really want before you delete your character

Well I've decided I do want to start over actually, and I've decided on the job I want, and the server I want, I'm just not sure if I can delete my old character now...

I know that if I get on a new server, and like it, that I won't ever use my old char again, but if I don't like meet some cool people or like the community, then I'll randomly go back to my old char...so I'm kinda trying to decide on that atm

you don't have to delete him. just cancel the ID, your char will be grey out but he'll be there :D

I don't know how long S-E keeps your character, but on my account I have 4 mules greyed out since 6 months ago and they're still there.

Well what I did was use my old chr as a mule :D and although I like my new chr I still keep the old one so that I can use the benefit of storage ^^

I want to start on a new server, so I wouldn't be able to use them as a mule, other wise I would just do what you said. I kinda wish my older char hadn't been saved, so I could start again, but oh well. I'll figure out what I'm going to do once I start on a server
