  • Worth Starting Again?

Hey guys. I used to be really into FF-X1 about a year and a half ago... perhaps 2 years.

I put in 1600 hours into the game and was 65 THF, 50 RNG, 33 WAR, 32 NIN, 27 RDM, 12 BLM

I quit the game because levelling got too tedious..not to mention farming for gear was ridiculous, even with TH-2.

Question is this. Is this game worth starting again? I wouldn't mind getting into a new MMORPG, and I didn't care much for EQ-2 or WoW.

I would be able to get many million gil right off the bat as i would be going back to carbuncle and still have a friend there.

How is the game now? It's been so long since i've played.

Would it be worth it to start anew? With access to all this gil i could get up in the big leagues much quicker.

Is the game ruined now? IE do certain players monopolize all the NMs and have the auction house basically at their will.

This was already becoming a problem before i stopped playing.

Basically calling out to any oldschoolers.

How is this game now? Worth my time?

There is a forum section for this. And no, the game isn't ruined.

As for blood red Poet, as a self-proclaimed post whore, i'm surprised you didn't offer any honest feedback or even vague answers to my post. Perhaps you should spend some more time helping forum members with questions instead of sitting around spewing useless drivel and calling it a "Story" and yourself a "Poet".

I think I'll cry myself to sleep tonight.

And why didn't I give you 'useful' information. Well, because you could just LOOK at the other thousand threads about this. Don't blame me for your retardism, or make fun of my stories, oh noes.

weel, he did give you an answer. you asked if the game was ruined, and he said it wasn't. you don't want BRP on your bad side. just because he didn't go into detail...

                        Re: Worth Starting Again?

i'd love an honest reply. after BRP advised i checked out the other forums, i still would like some more information, and any random personal experiences or anecdotes.

Last time i got into FF-XI, it compromised about a year of my life.

I'd like to know if it's worth it.

                        Double Post Edited:
by the way - you don't have to be retarded to miss one subforum out of 20.

I've never been to a messageboard with the specificity of this one.

i had no idea there was a whole forum for past burnouts.

Well, I'm determined to come back in December. I retired from FFXI cause of RL issues and now that its basically over, I'm coming back. If u feel like ur gonna burn out (and burn outs happens a lot faster when u come back again cause u know what the game feels like), then just don't bother.

Be happy that FFXI has a rather good experiance distributon system, from when I read, it is fearly easy to lvl up a character in FFXI.

In ragnarok Online, the mmorpg I play now, it took me 1 and a 1/2 years to get my rogue to lvl 77/47 and I have mediokre equips worth over 70million zenny.BTW, you almost cant get past 1m before lvl 65 in fact you can bearly manage 50k. Im not eaven gone talk about lineage's xp system...

It is to bad more mmorpg's don't take example on WoW.

Burning out is only temporary and it happens every once in a while, just like inter-office affairs, and it always leaves you wanting more.
