Interestingly, there is a discussion right now over at Penny Arcade in the MMO forum about "free to play" or other pay structures. It's kind of interesting to read. But as BBQ said, yeah, F2P is not really "free" so much.

And FFXIV will have a monthly fee You can bet on it.
