Hey, I'm having trouble opening the FFXI config. It doesnt open, a window just pops up and says "FFXI Config has stopped working", and shuts back down again. Any ideas?

odd....
if I remember, your running Windows Vista 32/64 (not sure witch) and you have the Vista POL installed, and FFXI fully updated.....
only thing I can think of, is if FFXI is still updating, then the config wont open. if you are done, make sure FFXI and POL are both closed, before trying to open the config, and if it still does not work, try rebooting and then open the config-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes, I am running 64 bit vista. I am wondering if the config problem is somehow related to the problems I have been having with FFXI's registry editor. FFXI's registry files aren't there... maybe that is why.... maybe I'll reinstall FFXI... but does that mean I'll have to redownload ALL the patch files? That download that takes like 10 hours?

yeah if you uninstall FFXI you will have to redo the updates, but if you let it run over night, its not as bad.Originally posted by Prophecies View Post

missing those registry entries and the config erroring out, not a good sign
uninstall everything, and reinstall Vista POL and then fully update it, then isntall FFXI and the expansions, then update FFXI overnight, and it should be good.-------------------------------------------------------------------------
