Buying FFXI

Okay, just my luck. When I decide to buy it... they discontinue the game, great! But my friend has the XBOX 360 game but plays it on his laptop all the time. Can I buy a PC version, register the codes on his computer and create my account on his computer... then put my (he's going to give me game for free) FFXI disc into my xbox and press play on ready account? Will that solve my delema

You can play the game on any device that has it downloaded (or the disc in the 360 from my understanding- that is the one device I don't have)

My hubby and I have both our computers and a couple PS2's in the house with the game downloaded, and we can play on any of them. As long as you remember your ID and password you can play anywhere. Just make sure that a) you have all the expansions registered to your account or you wont be able to use all the content & b) that all the expansions are on the machine or you wont be able to use all the content.

Yes, you can do this. We play on all platforms in this house. There's no way we are buying multiple versions of the game for no reason. LOL We all buy the PC version and then one PS2 and one 360. We install the PS2 and 360 version on all of our consoles. Just like Pixie said, just remember that you must have all the expansions installed to be able to access them. You can't install them on the PC and not install them on your 360.
