POL Viewer Minimizing, Won't capture mouse

I just reinstalled FFXI, and now that it's updating, POL viewer keeps doing some odd things. It first likes to minimize itself with no warning whatsoever. It also refuses to capture the mouse, so I can see the window, hear the music, but can't select anything with my mouse OR keyboard. Suggestions?

version of windows and if its Vista did you download/install the Vista version of POL?
