    Computer Locking Up

    2 gig Ram
    Amd Athalon 64 x2 processor
    Geforce 7900 GT (512 MB) Video card

    So I have had FFXI for a few weeks now. I've been playing in full screen mode up until 2 days ago. But I have 2 monitors and wanted to watch movies or browse the internet.

    After switching to windowed mode, while watching a movie and playing the game for about an hour the whole computer locks up and I have to hard-boot.

    I've played other games in this fassion (including but not limited to WAR, WOW, DAoC, EQ) and never had any problems.

    Anyone got any advise?

    FFXI dies not play friendly with anything else -.-

      My advice is don't use FFXI's windowed mode. It was junk the few days I used it. I have much better sucess with the 3rd party version.

      Nin75, Bst75. Drk61, War61, Rdm40, All other jobs are 37. All 3 starting city missions completed. All Zilart missions completed. All CoP missions completed. TouA completed.

        Even in the 3rd party windower, FFXI doesn't exactly play nice with other apps running that draw to the (or any) screen. That could be your issue.
