Pol-1161

I just got a new PS3 and I installed FFXI only to get a POL-1161 error. My husband's computer works fine with FFXI on the same network. What should I try to do to solve this? (SE is SOOOOO not helpful on this matter.)

I should add that we get this error with or without the router involved.

From experience, I can say that FFXI works perfectly with my PS3, although is is the 60gb model that is no longer made. I've heard that people are having problems playing the game with the 40gb and 80gb models, but I'm sure if you search around a bit, you can find an answer. I'll try and see if I can find anything out to help you, unless other members post it before I do.

Thanks for responding - I do have the 60 bit PS3 because I wanted no part of the backwards compatibility issues I have heard of. Also, I was getting this same error on my PS2 - thinking it was a problem with the PS2 files (and needing an excuse to buy a PS3). So, I don't know.
