ok I know I have been posting a lot of threads lately I am sorry I have a lot of questions. Any who, I am going to buy a Mac when I get enough money to afford one, and I was wandering does FFXI come in Mac software? Or do I have to download some PC + Mac combo drive or something?

Re: FFXI on Mac?
I'm not really the best person to explain. I am not a tech guru. But basically you buy a copy of windows, install it on your mac, and then you can boot the mac in windows rather than OS X, and run FFXI that way. You can't run it in OS X. Macs can run windows really well, but there is the additional cost of buying that copy of windows (which isn't cheap). Still, if you're really interested in playing FFXI on your Mac, it's the only way.

Re: FFXI on Mac?
I think I might just keep my PC to play FFXI, but use my Mac for internet, homework, music, etc...(everything I usely do on my PC accept play FFXI.)
Windows XP got a tiny partition, and I installed FFXI to a removable USB drive. The only time Windows gets to connect to the internet is when it updates itself or I fire up FFXI.

Re: FFXI on Mac?
Heck I see it as this anyway.....
Mac = graphic and music editing
Win= gaming
Linux = programing
I would never use Linux or Mac for gaming, but thats just me ;p-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Re: FFXI on Mac?
That's not really true. And it doesn't really matter, because what we're talking about here is running FFXI on a Windows boot on a mac. So you're not playing it in OSX anyway.

Re: FFXI on Mac?
Because it can run windows better than a PC, and because then you can use OS X for the things that you don't need windows for, since OS X is pretty awesome. But you also have Windows available for those stubborn programs that won't play well with OS X all on one machine. It's pretty elementary, really.
