    PoL ID and Gamer Profile ID Linking on xbox360!! Help!

    my question is .. how do i link my FF11 with my Gamertag so i can play FF11 on my 360?

    This is the error message below is what im getting, and any hints to get this taken care of would be greatly appreciated ^^
    ---------------------------------
    Error-POL5314

    The Gamer profile you are signed into Xbox Live is not linked to a current PlayOnline ID. Because this gamer profile is not linked, you may be unable to to log into PlayOnline. Try again after signing in with a different gamer profile.

    Have you read the Manual? I'm pretty sure it has a whole 2 pages devoted to linking them. If not then i don't know.

        Lol i wish it was that simple. I RTFM and nothing about error after attempt to link. I start up PoL,Log into my PoL ID. Then it asks for me to link my ID with gamer profile... ok easy cut and dry... i do so and once it starts to log me into PoL( you know does whole little loading bar for mail,friendslist blah blah) I dont even get past first bar and it shows me that error. So anyone know of this issue? Please let me know ^^

          Well what can i say but ....Neeeeerrr ner ner ner ner! Fullmetal , quoting from the manual :

          "When logging into the PlayOnline viewer for the first time , you will be asked to link your POL ID to an XBL gamer profile. The CURRENT gamer profile, your POL membership name and your POL ID will be displayed. Select "settings" to open the confirmation window for linking the POL ID to your Gamer profile"

            Well we play on the 360 and PC and ran into the same error but fixed it fairly easily as I recall. Of course, this was back when the FFXI was first released on the 360 so there's no way in hell I'll remember what I did to fix it. lol When you start up POL and you have a list that has Member List, Information, Guest Login, Add Member, and such click on your name and then there will be Log In, Settings, Delete, and Back. Try Settings and see if thats where you link it. ......ya this remembering stuff sucks at my age. lol

                LOL Well I'm a bit of a "character" as my mum puts it. I'm 46 but the name is correct, I do have 2 grandsons (Alexander 4 and Vincent 2.....notice the FF names ). Been computing since it all began and started playing video games 34 years ago when that all started too.

                  Nothing in settings( sorry grandmom)and Ive gotten past the Link an ID with gamer profile steps but after is where i get the error... im kinda stumped. Someone said it might be my PoL ID is already linked with another Gamer Profile, wich i cant see is the problem since this is my first time playing on 360 with FF11... Once again im stumped ; ;

                      You sure you were using your Gamertag? I have three on my Xbox, one for each of my x-box buddies that live close to me.

                      And 46 is a fine age. Hell i had some wine that was older than you the other day and it was delicious.

                            yea im guessing ill just have to call PoL tomorrow. Since i have to be Signed into xbox live im guessing its my gamertag.

                              i call PoL this morning and they said it was already linked with another gamertag >< i dont know how he said prob a friends gamertag or something but all he did was verify a bunch of info and unlinked it so i could link with mine and BAM! im good to go... thx guys for the help ^^
