Error is "Class Not Registered" on WINDOWS VISTA I have found fixes for xp but vista has a different architecture I can apply it to, below is a bit of background on this issue please help me out if you can
Ok, I am away from my house, and was unable to bring my computer, for about a month. I had my portable hard drive with my final fantasy files on it and was pleasantly surprised to find out that they had just gotten a new Vista computer and a dsl connection. I loaded all my ff files into the computer and found an error with it and tracked it down to a registry issue and managed to get it fixed with the help of a friend back home but now I have the above listed problem of "Class Not Registered." I found an example of someone who had fixed it by editing the boot.ini file in xp but vista has changed how it handles booting and this file no longer exists. I managed to figure out it uses Bcdedit.exe to adjust it now but I could not find anything similar to the other fix about turning off auto-execute in it. I don’t have my install discs and my friend can’t find them either. If anyone knows how to fix this problem or has a buddy code I can use to download the installer from SE (not to activate an account just the download page needs a password to access it) which will probably fix this problem if I run it then load all my updated files in. So anyone who can help me out with this please let me know I don’t think I can survive the month of isolation with the family without some final fantasy ;_;
