More information may be helpful. Give people as much details about the computer as you can, including graphic card and driver version.
Also, other anomalies you've noticed about FFXI on your computer or even your computer in general may be related, so let folks know about those if they exist.

Also: Are you using the taker built into FFXI or a 3rd party one?
Yes I am using the one that is built in to FFXI. Also, I alsmost have 2 GB of ram..I think I need more lol....and I looked I only have like 1-4% left of space on both of my drivers, thats probly the reason. I also only have 506 MB of memory so thats probly another issue!

The reason the game is freezing is because it's trying to find someplace to put the image, and only finding bits of pieces of empty space. Clear out some room and you should see some improvement.
ok I just cleaned my comp I got like 8GB back and my comp defrags everyday and I just set it to clean my comp up atleast once a week. So hopefully that will take care of some of the lag lol....

I would also try using fraps, the build-in SS facility is crap anyway, you get a tiny version of your screen and on some gfx card drivers you only get a black box saved. Fraps works 100% for me, and at 1280x1024x32, and has the added bonus of being able to take videos as well. If you have a dual proc machine then the latest registered version of fraps will make use of the spare proc also.
