  • Controls problem

Hello guys I just finished installing the game and I hoped ingame eager to start...

Let's just say I had to logout very fast because I don't know the controls for the laptop.

I can't find the button that opens the menu which allows me to change my settings.

    Help

    Re: Controls problem

most laptops have a key you can hit to enable numeric keypad input. enable that an then hit the equivalent of '-' (that's a minus) to bring up the menu. then switch to a compact (wasd) keyboard in the Config menu

    Thanks Yyg!

      Re: Controls problem

Well, press "Ctrl and -" at the same time to bring up the menu on the laptop. If you plan to use a controller, go to the Playonline Configuration or the Final Fantasy XI (I forgot which one) when you click Start > All Programs > PlayOnline. So then confirm you're using a controller so FFXI recognizes which play style you're going to use. I hope that helps. Also, the FFXI Instruction Manual helps as well.

Actually my "menu' button was my scroll mouse button...

But since I could access it now I can enjoy the game.

        Thanks guys

Thread finished you can close it

Personally I like a Dual Shock for controlling FFXI and there are plenty of USB clones out there...
