Need some help

I used to play FFXI last year, but I ended up quitting. Now I want to play again, but it won't let me log in with my old ID and password. Says it's all invalid.

I tried to make a new account, but everytime I put in my registration code for POL, I get a UCS-4001 error and it denies it.

Is there any way I can get my old account renewed so I don't have to buy an entirely new game just to get new registration codes? Or can I get my old registration codes renewed? I don't even know why I can't login to my POL account anymore :S

well its not an account ban thats for sure, have you input your details in correctly? usually its the Member ID thats forgotten, contact Playonline support, make sure you have all your billing details ready ^^. give them a try phone them or chat online with them. worked for me

and dont forget its case sensitive. i keep putting the letters in lower case by accident

thats correct your member id needs to be UPPERCASE

I know my ID for sure, I wrote it down a long time ago along with the password and had it saved. Typed it all uppercase and everything, still says invalid.

And I tried a live chat with POL to see if they still even had my account, but I waited at least an hour and no one was available.

They don't delete accounts, do they? Even if theyre inactive for a year or so? :x

If you cancelled your POL account when you quit (not just the Content IDs that allow you a slot to create a character), then you need a new copy.

It can never be said enough, but it always gets brought up too late: Never cancel your POL account. It's free to leave it valid, and if you cancel it, you're screwed. You must get a new POL account that comes from a new copy of the game.

Yeah, I never deleted the account itself, just the content ID. I even had a friend (a very very trusted one I know in life) log in for me a couple times after I deleted the game from my computer to check my messages for me.


And in response to the last post, even if I did use my registration codes, they're still all registered on that old account I'm trying to get into. If POL deleted my account, all that registration info should be gone and I should be able to use it again right...

What exactly is the error you get when you try to log in? Maybe the other person who was on your account changed the password?
