1280x1024 looks wrong

Ok, I got a newish desktop system. The LCD's native display is 1280x1024 and I'd like to run FFXI at that resolution. Problem is that at the display ratio of 4:3 it looks wrong, squished and everything is thinner and taller then it should be. This makes sence as 1280x1024 is 5:4 not 4:3.

I know others are running it at 1280x1024, so how did you make it look right?

Config, Misc2, Aspect Ratio?

Mine looked fine normally. But I know you can change that there.

Ya I tried that, but its 4:3 or various widescreen ratios.

Unless I'm blind of course.

No, I just checked and noticed that as well. Odd. Mine looks fine on 1280x1024 with no adjustments.

regedit the resolution down a bit, so it is 4:3?

personally, I've almost always played in 1280x1024 and it never seemed messed up to me.
