I did a small serach, came up with an answer that didn't work. It worked for a day but I'm still having the problem.

I've looked into it, but I still can't seem to find an answer. Secured Wirednetwork (with wireless option), same router I used to use for FFXI, same ports being forwarded (even tried that auto PDP function in playonline). Everything is correct.

But, I sttil seem to get R0 3-4 times every hour (sometimes I can play for 5 hours non stop). I can't play FFXi like this, because well, who wants someone who keeps DCing every hour?

Did anyone else have this problem that has fixed it? And what steps did you go though?

There was a huge R0 problem for a while after one of the version updates, what worked for me was changing my router.

You can also attempt to change your IP address but it may or may not work. I can't remember why the IP addresses were a problem but it had to do with some regional blocking or something. I'm not terribly tech savvy so I really don't know how to explain it because I can't say that I understood what the issue was.

Unfortunately, changing your router or your modem would be the best solution. Once my husband and I changed our router everything was just fine.

For now, try unplugging your router and direct connecting to your modem to see if that fixes it. If it does, then chances are, you need a new router, EVEN THOUGH IT WORKS PERFECTLY FINE FOR EVERY OTHER ASPECT OF THE INTERNET. I know that it sucks, but it seems like the most widespread solution I had heard of about the R0 issue.

I've had this issue before, and I resolved it by changing out my router.
Seems like a waste of money, but it worked. Try to unplug your router from your network and then just plug your network cable directly into your computer from your modem. See if that helps any. The issue "could" be your router.

If changing your router works, it could be a UDP flood attack problem. Checck your router logs, or consider running a packet monitoring program like Wireshark (although i've heard POL won't let you run it and FFXI at the same time)

If it is a UDP flood, changing your IP can work, as can getting a more secure router.

I played with some more router settings, it seems that while I was gone my parents decdied to play doctor with my old router (visiting my parents house for the weekend). And also, there were like 2 random people on my network (they took off sharing, and also changed the login pass... yea... stupid haha).

but, we shall see, i've been DC free for about 4 hours now.

Fixed router settings, was R0 free from all lastnight till about 2am, just tried to log in. R0 soon as I logged.

I did, nothing out of the ordinary. I ahve another spare router, but I took this one down for now. Been r0 Free for about the 2 hours I played, not making any def. answers yet. Thanks for the help Feba :D

speaking of problems...

while i'm playing ffxi my computer sometimes spontaneously restarts itself. all of the suddenly, i get this blue screen with a wall of white text and i hear the sound of my comp shutting off.

i think other people have this same problem and i suspect it has something to do with itunes (though i'm not an expert in this area).

anybody know what this could possibly be, and how to fix it?

Gilge, if it blue screens, I don't think it's a power or heating issue, so it could be driver issues. Try reinstalling your sound and graphics drivers, use the ones POL recommends, see if that helps.

Well, I'm directly connected and have been for 2 days, and no problems as of yet. So, hopefully this fixes it, (still running more tests tonight), and going to put up my new router tonight as well.
