You should have to use a bluetooth dongle. As far as I know, the only thing the USB connector does for the ps3 is charge the battery (Ala x360), I could be wrong though, because I don't have a PS3.

It registred it as a gamepad but I couldn't use any button while tried calibrate it. So either get a doogle or a 360 controller.

Yea i tried the xbox 360 controller thing and after spending way too much time getting the controller to connect to the wireless pc reciever...i find that the L/R triggers don't work. Yea i know you don't need them but that wasn't why i went back to my ps2 controller. I don't know about you guys but I had to completely reset my computer every time i wanted the reciever to connect to my xbox controller, so i said screw it lol.


conclusion: waste of 20bucks on pc reciever (unless there's a driver update )

I've heard about the issues with the wireless one.

What about a wired 360 controller?
