  • FINAL FANTASY XI\USER\'s contents

Does anyone know of a nice reference to what these files are? Inside each user/ID's folder, the only thing I know is that mcr*.dat files contain macros. (The numbers are offsetted; mcr4.dat = "Macro Set #5", for example.)

AUCSORT.DAT is probably AH sorting (duh), but what are all the other *.dat, *.MRK, and the mysterious mcr.sys files for?

In particular, I'm looking for the file(s) which contains the configuration settings (could it be cnf.dat?) such as the chat filters and font colors. Knowing what everything is would be nice, though.

Did you ever figure this out, Itazura? I'd like to be able to transfer over my settings from Murphie to my second account, but if I don't know what files they are, I can't very well do it. (The CTRL+SHIFT+ALT+R thing doesn't work on separate accounts).

Heck, I don't even know which character is which under USER. :/

I mean, it's not the end of the world if I have to manually do my chat colors and such. But if there is a faster way...

      Re: FINAL FANTASY XI\USER\'s contents

The mrc*.dat files are definitely for the macros, and cnf.dat is for chat filters, font coloring, etc.

Didn't spend further effort to find out about maps markers and such, since font coloring was what I really wanted.

      Edit:
To find out which character is under which folder, log on to one character, make trivial changes to one macro. Log out of FFXI, and look for the mcr*.dat with the correct modification time stamp. There, you've just mapped one folder to one character.

Awesome. I'll do just that. Thanks.
