    hi sorry if this was answered before but couldn't find any post about it so here goes

    i was registering for the first time when i input my playonline reg code accurately i get the error message UCS-4001 invalid registration code. could someone help me please

    To answer this question properly we need more information:

    (1) What version of FFXI do you have installed? PC, Xbox 260, PS2/PS3? North American, Japanese, European?

    (2) Is your copy of FFXI a new store-bought copy? If you bought it second-hand, the registration codes are almost 100% likely to be unusable.

    (3) Are you a returning player trying to reactivate an account? I believe old registration codes for account holders trying to reactivate can sometimes be recovered by contacting PlayOnline Support by telephone.

        Ick. Never, ever, buy MMORPG software second-hand. The registration codes (not just for FFXI, but for all MMOs) link to your account information and are no longer valid after they're used once.

        Buy new or don't buy at all is the only way to go with this sort of software.

          Hi, i have a huge problem i bought a new final fantasy xi 2007 collection (i bought it in japan, but is a imported one, is a american edition), all well wraped when i get home and install the game i got problem whit vista, so i downloaded the playonline viewer for vista, i install the viewer, did the update, and when it ask me the registration code it simply continue to give me "wrong registration code" (i repeat the game is new and nobody open it before me), i try to use also the registration code in the vana'diel buddy pass, but neither that one works....
          I'm really pissed actually, i try also to contact playonline (via email and phone) whitout any answer...
          Please someone can help me??
