wrong, wrong, wrong. you are forgetting the golden rule:
they always charge on the first of the month for the current month of service.
they will not let you play Dec 14-31 without paying for it first. that means you WILL be charged on Dec 1 for 14 thru 31. you must change the account details (from your dad's card) before Dec 1.

Trial is a little different. And it seems all of us were wrong if we read the official Q&A correctly.

As stated in the SE's Q&A databade, "billing will not begin until the following day after the free 30 day trial period." If we read this correctly, we're to be billed the very next day after the trial ends. So, this at least confirms that you won't be charged on Dec 1.

I was under impression of that "golden rule" too, and that I believed what I satated was to happen. W/ all these confusions, however, I suggest that you contact SE's support and ask them for the definite answer.

well, unless they changed things recently with their registration server maintainence, I believe the golden rule still applies (last I confirmed this was in early Feb 2006). but you are correct, if you really want to be sure then I would suggest shooting POL an email Chaos Zero

If I recall correctly, when I came back to the game earlier this year, I did so with an entirely new copy (and thus received the free month), and I wasn't billed until my Trial Period ended, and it was at a pro-rated price. But after that I was consistently billed on the 1st of the month.
