Can't even start the game! Money going with each day. . .
My brother is having HUGE troubles getting it to work on his computer. You all remember back when you first went to Play Final Fantasy XI on the PlayOnline browser? And it had to do, like, a billion updates onto your computer? How it first checks, then downloads, and finally installs? Well, before it was even done with 10% with the checking step, it gave him a:
"POL-0250
No response from server. Please try again later or check networking devices such as cables and router or network settings."
I have a big computer guy around, and even HE can't figure out what to do; he claims to have tried everything.
Can somebody from this great community help my brother out? He is using the compialation discs that have Rise of the Zilart included (outdated, yes, but we're not buying a whole new compilation, heck, he isn't even interested in getting the other two expansions yet
).
It would be good to know what is happening, but it be even better to know what to do about it. We tried everything from waiting the error out to uninstalling and re-installing the entire thing (the computer guy around said he had reformat the laptop, anyway)!
