I have a question, my xbox broke

Ok, so my xbox quit working about a week ago and it just went out Monday to get fixed. I have not gotten to play FF in almost 2 weeks because we moved and I didn't have internet for about 5 days, then by the time we got the net back my box went down. So what I wanted to know if I put my friends copy of FF on my computer and use my 360 codes, can I still play it on the box too, or would I have to re-enter the codes again on the box when it gets back or would I be stuck on the PC? I hope this makes sence, lol. Thanks!

This is the first time I've heard of someone who tried to switch from Xbox to PC, but I do know that switching back and forth between PC and PS2 versions poses no problems. Accounts in FFXI are non-platform specific.

Note that you will NOT have to re-register your codes. All you need are the PC version discs to install, then do the update and you should be able to log in just fine. However, make sure you have all the same expansion discs as well for the PC version or you will get locked out of areas you could access previously (the Xbox 360 version comes with the base game plus Rise of the Zilart and Chains of Promathia, while it's possible your friend may only have the Rise of the Zilart expansion disc).

Ah let's not forget the Treasures of Aht Urghan.

All you need is your own account name and password etc. to be able to use your character.
It don't see why it would matter which disc you use.
Just Imagine playing Call of Duty 2 on XBox Live. Your Gamertag doesn't care which disc it is, as long as hit holds the info, you'll be ok

He can still use his character, but wouldn't be able to go to the other zones from expansions unless they're loaded on the PC. For instance, if he didn't have ToAU loaded, but his character was last logged in Whitegate, I don't believe he would be able to load his character, since that area isn't on the PC.

All I know is that you can not play a different account on the 360. Only one account and that is it, can't switch to another. So I'd hope you can do it.

I had my brother try my Win XP system and he normally plays on an X-box. It just added a choice between my login ID and his and can be freely logged in one or the other. If you login to the Xbox while the PC is connected through the same account it will disconnect the system that was already connected and vice versa.

No problems switching back and forth. :=D

I finally got it all updated last night and tried it this morning and you are right, it works great. I'm so glad. They just got my xbox yesterday and I'm sure it will be another week before it comes back. 2 weeks was ltoo long to go with out playing, lol. Again thansk to everyone for the help. Oh yeah, and if you sent it out to get fixed, make sure the game is still installed in the HDD. Even though the game is cheap now to buy, it would still suck if you had to again because they erased everything on your HDD. >.<

I had to send it in to get it repaired, they didn't want anything but the box. No HDD, faceplate etc. I really don't know what happened to it, I was watching a movie and the movie locked up so I power ed the system off. When I turned it back on I go a black screen with the error code 079, then 3 flashing red lights and that was it, it never came back. Really sucked, never had one problem with it and I have had it sence Jan 1. O'well, at least they are fixing it for free and the same thing happened to my xbox 1. The big difference is I had it back in 7 days, going on 2 weeks with the 360

nope, I have had my 360 since december and I haven't had any problems with it.
One of my friends had to send his in, and then he got sent out 2 360's on the same day!! lol he sold it for £200
