  • Account Problems

Okay here's my issue. In May a friend of mine bought a copy of FFXI Online and installed it on his computer and he gave me the download code, playonline code, and FFXI code. I immediately downloaded FFXI from the internet and installed it.

What I didn't realize was that the computer I installed FFXI onto didn't have a sufficient graphics card (it was actually built in) and the resolution wasn't high enough. I had already purchased a content ID and stuff but FFXI wouldn't start. The computer was too old anyways so I decided to get a new PC (I was due for one anyways).

This new PC is amazing and it was able to play FFXI, however the download code couldn't work on it because it had already been used. So I purchased a new copy of FFXI Online and installed it.

Here's where the problem lies... something happened to the old computer (a virus or something) forcing it to be completely wiped out.... all my POL info, e-mail, etc. were lost. I do not know the passwords, usernames, etc. for that account so I couldn't cancel them. I created a brand new account (the one I'm currently using) and purchased a content ID for it. I cannot cancel the old account because I don't have any info and I just got charged for it... $19.95.

My questions: How do I get rid of that account? And why was I charged $19.95 instead of $12.95?

    Re: Account Problems

probably because you had some balance of days on the 30 day trial before the end of the month. SE charges per month, not per 30 days.

As for your problem with your old account, I think, if you don't remember any of your Ids+password, that your only option is to call SE and have them manually cancel you. They'll probably ask you to verify your address, birthday and (original) CC number so have that ready.

    Thanks Yyg!

Just a random thought... wouldn't my old account get cancelled after a certain amount of time of inactivity?

not if you keep paying for it.
