I am really hoping someone here can give me some help with this connection issue.
Everything worked great until yesterday when we were booted and never could connect again. The login process will stop at different points but usually will hang on retrieving Friend's List.
I have a Fiber optic connection to my house that breaks out for telephone, cable and internet. Then internet portion is essentially a Cat5 cable that comes into the house with a couple other ones for the cable boxes. They all go to a Linksys switch which also has a connection for my DLink router. I have 3 computers that currently use the router and play FFXI. (me, wife, and son). I have tried everything from opening ports, to getting rid of router and then switch and just plugging the Internet Cat5 directly into my computer. I have done this with and without firewall and antivirus.
I have ran Tracert for www.playonline.com and when it leaves sprintlink.net and goes to IIJ.net the pings go from ~50 to over 100 and when it gets to playonline it is at ~210. I can connect to the the www.playonline.com website but when I choose the Service and Support page that page will never load.
Anyone else having issues like this? I have searched alot of boards and didn't find anyone with issues like this so I am beginning to believe that it is somehow on my end or with my ISP.
Thanks for you help.
