somebody please help me FFXI trouble

whenever i try to run final fantasy on windows, POL works, but FFXI doesnt.
i get this error message:
"Terminated as Error occurred in Final Fantasy XI. Failed to recognize hardware TnL. Please check that this computer has the required specifications to run Final Fantasy XI. (-1)"

i have a feeling it's my graphics card and the graphics card that i have is an
Intel 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller.

if someone could help me that would be greatly appreciated!

I had the exact same problem 3 years ago when I got it for my PC

I'm not sure how to fix it exactly, but if I were you I would try to get the PS2 or Xbox360 version instead (I got it for 360)

EDIT: As for the graphics card, I remember that my card was too "updated" to run the FFXI software (which really peeved me off), and to do it I had to get either a different card or a totally different computer

i bought ffxi yesterday. i played a couple months ago and i had to quit. and i just missed it so much. lol.

Upgrade your video card, or upgrade the drivers for it if it meets the requirements.

This little piece of crap is causing the problem. That thing is absolutely not suitable for gaming. It doesn't work because it doesn't support TnL. You need to get a real video card.

I remember seeing this post a lot 3 years ago on gameFAQs (back when there was a point to go to the gameFAQs boards for FFXI, and not a bunch of elitists and trolls...anyway.....).

It's just as Maju said, that graphics "card" is the problem. It's not even a card...it's built into the motherboard.

I recommend going to playonline.com before buying the PC version and downloading the benchmark program to see if you can run the game. Not that it'd help at this point. :x

First, I'd look at your motherboard and see if it has an AGP slot before looking into how much a video card costs. >_>a
