POL Problem [Help!]

Well, I recently got a JP copy of POL, long story short, even after I copied the FFXI folder to the Japanese directory, I'm having a problem.

I've had it with the NA version too, both with and without windower running.


Basically, after I click "Play", and load up FFXI, as soon as it tries to make a new windower, it crashes back to POL. I remember I fixed this once, but I forget how to now.

This is espcially hard to look up, since I don't even get an error message..

And I just checked, NA client works fine

Registry shows:

PlayOnline:
C:\Program Files\PlayOnline\Square\FINAL FANTASY XI\
PlayOnlineUS:
C:\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\

I have multiple FFXI Installations at both of these locations. I'll try swapping NA with JP, and see if it's the POL itself

My NA FFXI is working fine, so there's no reason it shouldn't work with JP client, as far as I can see.

I use a JP windower, and when I first installed it I had to go into the script file and change "C:\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\" to "C:\Program Files\PlayOnlineUS\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\." Maybe that is your problem.

However I don't know much on files, .dats, and that sort of thing, that's the only thing I can see possibly going wrong

It's not a windower problem. It won't work even without windower. PlayOnlineUS\ makes it want to reinstall the game.

With JP POL, I can get up to the game, it tries to make a new window, flashes, then takes me back to POL, as if I had DCd. both with and without windower.

With NA POL, even windower works fine

Aaah I see. And I knew your problem wasn't the windower, I just brought up my problem to point out that maybe it was the "/PlayOnlineUS/ virsus /PlayOnline/" thing that was yours too.
