The released a new program for intel macs called "Boot Camp" that allows you to install and run windows xp on a mac now. Boot Camp basically sets up a small partition on your hard drive so you can dual boot.

Sounds great, i use a PC at home for FFXI and use a MAc at work for ARchicad and usual work related admin as an Architect. I was waiting to see what this new dueal boot machines are like, when I get more money saved I am looking at getting a G5 tower for home with the intel chips and dual boot function, Macs are so much securer and I love using them, though its a frustration no windows applications runs on them. This may be a great move by Steve Jobs to open up the Mac market more.

How did the installation go? Any problems with installing FF?

wow thanks for posting this I have been wanting to get a new notebook for some time now and was thinking about geting a mac, cuz now i can play FFXI on it

could you post some screen shots of game play on your mac plz?

the only thing that is holding me back is what's the difference between the macbook and the ibook (both with the intel chips) I know the iBook with intel isn't out yet.. but just askin...

I am actually getting ready to order my Macbook, getting the higher processor speed since in the end it will only be about 200$ more expensive (some of the upgrades I wanted came standard on it). I would be interested in hearing more about the ibook though.

EDIT: What have you heard about iBooks, they havnt even been anounced for the g5 intel based processors; what makes you think that they will continue both iBook and the new Macbook line?

The "macbook" will be the replacement to the ibook in May or June. The Macbook pro is the replacement/upgrade for the Powerbook.

I'm typing this on a 2.0 Dual Core Macbook Pro right now, and I was playing FFXI with everything maxed out last night here

ah... finally... I won't be cornholed into a PC... And with the next release of OSX, the dual boot software is supposed to be standard. My next computer is so going to be a Mac.
