error 2711.ALL_US and Error 1603

Ok here is the problem:

when I go to install FFXI from the DVD verson I get 2 errors before I get to 1%

I can install the whole thing on my gf's laptop.

I can install the POL, and both the expansion on mine.

I have run the benchmark on my computer and it works.

I have searched all the sites with no help and SE has not been helpful at all.

Please help. I have had the older FFXI verson on here but It was removed because of cd key issues. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Funny, i had the same error trying to install a piece of software at work today o.o..

I stumbled upon:

They tell you to get some installer cleaner thing... here's the url for it:

Hope it works out for ya, for me, i only had to install that cleanup utility, and then i stopped getting the error..
