I'm playing ffxi on my laptop but now i have to reforat my pc. I have an external hard drive so can i just move my whole ffxi folder in the HD, and reformat, reinstall ffxi then just overwrite the whole ffxi folder back from the external to my laptop (to not having to dl all the patches)

it should work in theory, I think, as I don't believe that updates do any registry changes. Worse comes to worse you still have to update, and you're out what? 2 extra min from copying files?

it works, done it

make backup, install ffxi, copy backup over ffxi

he will maybe give some odd message, but only first time he checks files i guess
