can my pc run this?

hello everyone Im concidering buying this game for the pc but i dont want to buy it for pc if its going to be all chuggy and look like crap even tho my pc is pretty bad my dad wont buy me anything but i dont want to have to blow my christmas money on a new graphics card or the ps2 deal cuz thats alot of money even tho it looks like im going to have to
so heres system specs

amd athlon xp2400+1.99 ghz
768mb RAM
Geforce mx 4000 agp 128mb DDR <-- cheap jerk this card is crap
Benchmark low score 2775
Benchmark high score didnt try

so should i get it for ps2 or just upgrade my PC sigh
also can my graphics card be overclocked and were can i find if it supports pixel shading thanks ALOT

Check out Vana'Diel Benchmark, it's a program to check if Final Fantasy XI runs good at your computer.

FFXI is a direct X 7 game. you won't need the pixel shaders. however, the GF4 MX is considerably underpowered so don't expect good framerates if you run at high resolutions. anything 800x600 and lower you should be fine though.

I run FFXI on two computers:

Pentium-D 2.8GHZ
1GB Ram
ATI x700 Pro 256 PCI-E

This computer runs with the high-res model reg hacks, all graphics options up, etc., etc., and will run windower twice with no slow down (do bad SE doesn't like "cheat" programs any more).

700mhz Athalon
196mb RAM
32mb Geforce2.

I run it no problems with all effects off, in lowest res. That's all it can handle, but it can handle it even at the AH. Aside from Valkurum Dunes being stark white (no textures), but thats to be expected runing below min. specs. Later i put in a GeForce MX4000 like you've got, and it fixed the stark-white issue.

Hope that puts things in perspective.
