    FFXI freezes when I try to take a screen shot

    Good Afternoon ^^

    Whenever I try to take a screenshot...my computer just freezes. the music will play for a bit, untill the track ends, but then after that it just stops. I have manually restart the system.

    Any ideas? I don't use any 3rd party programs.

      Ok...what kinda information do you need?

      I run WinXp Pro, 256(?)MB of RAM, GeForce 2 MAX (err...not quite sure...but its an olderish system, I have most of the specs on low for FFXI -- new system in the works )

        ouch, Win XP running with 256MB of RAM and a Geforce 2 MAX to boot (Hope it's VRAM is 32+).

        Well specs wise from just that it seems like you are barely able to run the game (No info on the processor though). Well I'd say try updating the graphics drivers then and see if that does anything. Also given the low resources make sure your system isn't running anything extra that it doesn't need to be running while you are playing.

          Yeah I know my system is not so great ; ;

          The proscessor is P4 and yes, 32 VRAM and I do shut everything down while I play.

          I just updated the drivers not too long ago...I guess I'll try again ^^

            I get the same problem too >< I'm running the game on Toshiba Satellite A75-S209 with 3.06GHz Pentium 4, 1GB of memory, ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9000 IGP

            its prob. a bad install or something so i just use Clipper it works just fine and i can also take pics of the chat log and other stuff

              If you press scroll lock to clear the interface & use clipper the game will still take a screenshot, or you might get a "Screenshots Full" message.

              You wouldn't be able to use scroll lock, but I used clipper for a long while before I got windower. It's a nice program. Although I think you have to pay for it now. >.>
