          Re: Should I?

FFXI is hackable, nothing isnt hackable, but this is hardly a hack, moreso of a file swap which was allways possible and i doubt SE would ban you or whatever for doing it because well the files aren't altered in any way other than their name and location O.o, but i wouldnt be shouting in jeuno about it either lol.

              Re: Should I?

in your FFXI folder there are folders called roms with buncha .dats inside. each of them can be a lot of things from dialogue texts, individual models, armors and etc.

basicly you have to know what dats are the models you want to replace.
moogle dat for example. you want your moogle to look like a dragon, you have to look for dragon dat and replace the moogle with the dragon.

benefit is you get to change the look of things the way you want... that's all. the function will still be the same, just with different looks.

                  Re: Should I?

they're located in you're ROM folder... use model viewer or something to check which .dat is associated with what ^^

you can look around the .DAT editing forum for what you need and whatnot. you can also check http://phabin.folye.net/ for how-to's, etc gluck!
