  • Not bad in-game pic...right? lol

I've posted a lot of messages today, i don't want to get annyoing , lol, but I just installed FFXI on my computer, it came with a graphics chip, but no AGP slots!! ahh! ,lol, and i'm playing it, it looks so much better than PS2!

I have a question, I put it on it's best feature, but it's slow in bastok, will the best feature be ok for other areas? Also, the in-game seems really "light and bright" how can i make it darker? Also, what little things can i do to enhance graphics? Finally, can you make the draw distance better, is there an application? THANK YOU ALL!

if you find it slow in those places in bastok, you're gonna hate it in battle... or outside even.

under config there is a setting for gamma. use that to enchance brightness (or lower).

there is no way to increase the draw distance without resorting to 3rd party tools (against TOS). but you won't want to anyway because it'll slow your game to a crawl with your integrated graphics.

btw, moving to game setup forum.

    Thanks Yyg!

Without a decent AGP or PCI-Express vidcard, you won't be able to have good graphics. If you want them, you're probably going to need a new motherboard, processor, memory, and vid card.

It might not seem like they're that good, but compared to the PS2, they are PHEONIMAL (spelling, lol) but you get the picture. I'm happy and back in vanadiel.

For taking pictures I suggest using Fraps or Snagit, they'll come out more as how you see them on the screen. The built in screen capture produces pictures that seem "well done". Personally I opened up the graphics card's prefrences and turned the vibrance up a lot and it looks really nice.

Maybe Snagit isn't the best choice, sometimes it seems to granulate the pixels a bit and I'm not sure why. This picture is with my vibrance set up 75%. I'm making friends in Eldieme.

when you say "welldone" do you mean like a steak that's overdone and that it looks worse in picture, or are you saying that the picture looks better?

Also, can you change how dark/light it is on the PC version?

I used a Radeon 9200 PCI Card for awhile before i got a new PC.. i still have it next to me. I was able to play on max settings (sans weather) and it ran pretty good.. I think they have better cards too.. look on ebay or newegg.. something ^^
