Flist problems

Okay... I just recently realized this, but I can't see anyone online on my friends list either in FFXI or POL even when they are on. They also cannot see me. Mm.. I've checked pretty much everything I could think of (privacy settings, etc.) but it still doesn't work. One thing I realized is that when I add people to /flist they get the "accept+add" message, but I do not get one in return from them (just the confirmation message that they accepted you). Instead, one of my friends told me that I had rejected it... soooo yeah [//_o]. Any ideas would be helpful ^^a thanks!
