    My PC hates me Help

    My PC hates me and i really starting to hate it! I rarely get to log out of the game...half the time the game crashs and the char selet screen. the screen freezes up and you can move but the music still goes on, or it blacks out conpletely, and my fav the screen goes plaid! all of which i have to shut down the pc and turn back on. also the pc goes bananas sometime when i am in my house....what does all this mean? i just want to throw this stupid thing out the window! ahahahahataru

    Pleeeeeease help somebody....

    check it for viruses.
    make sure your drivers are up to date.
    make sure your case has adequate cooling.

      It also helps if you give a bit more info.

      How long have you been playing the game?

      Is this a recent problem or has it been going on since you started playing?

      What are the specs of your computer?

      Offhand it sounds like a graphical problem. As neighbortaru pointed out, there could be a very common reason for it to happen. Another reason could be A) your graphics card can not handle FFXI (again this relates to my first question) or B) your graphics card may be biting the dust. But, doing tech support over the internet with little info is difficult.

        yes viruse systems are all good to go and uptodate...i they where not i would wounder how i pass a security class in college and why im not paranoid.

        almost 2 years i had stopped playing for at least 5 months (canceled payment) to try WoW and i hated WoW (no tarus, but WoW did have its ups and downs) and i came back at least 2 or 3 week now. and thats when is started acting a kinds of crazy. i had try the refrese rate to 70 from 75 and its at 60 (and driving me nuts i can stand playing for more then 2 to 3 hrs at a time. the low rate helps a lot on the select char but doesnot salve everything
