Windower is. You can get banned for using it, but they have no way of telling that you use it unless you mention it in game.

That being said, this has been discussed in other threads about windower, so this one isn't really needed. Also, this is the wrong section for such a topic.

a third party program is any software/program not explicitly provided by SE (OS, virus scanners, firewalls, browsers, IM clients, win amp excluded).

To clarify better a 3rd party program is not just any other program not provided by SE. A 3rd party program is another program that alters the original programs design, no matter how small. For example a windower captures the send messages that FFXI original program does and reinstructs the computer to put in an actual window instead of locking down the entire screen.

Does it count as towards your record? No, not yet
Is it useful? yes.

Suffice to say, windower is benifical to a PC user then just windowing and not just to cheat (cough IME cough)

The moral high ground is up to the indivual, but getting banned is more of your fault then the windower.

No one has yet to be banned from that by just "using it"

Any elaborations can be gotten through the search function...with its 15 threads or something.
