  • Question about "hidden" terms on the auto-translator

As a Bard, I macro almost everything. With my macros, I use the auto-translator as much as possible. Here's the issue, though.

Sometimes when I start typing in "mage" for Mage's Ballad and hit tab, Mage's Ballad doesn't come up as an option, and sometimes it does. The other times, "Ballad" is my only option to choose from, which means my macro looks a bit shoddy when I have to say "Casting Mage's (|Ballad|)" (though I'm sure JP players will get the idea, I'm somewhat of a perfectionist and like everything to look nice and clean.

Same case with Horde Lullaby. My emergency Horde Lullaby macro says "Casting Horde (|Lullaby|) on <lastst>!" Now, I'm not sure if JP players will know I'm about to cast the AOE Lullaby and not just the normal one. However, like in Mage's Ballad (and, I'd imagine, with every other song, like "Valor Minuet" instead of "Minuet," etc., I've even seen "Sword Madrigal" instead of normal "Madrigal"), I've also seen "Horde Lullaby" in the list of auto-translated things, while it's never there normally.

This is a pretty stupid issue, but it caught my attention and now it's annoying me because I don't know how to duplicate the fully-translated songs in the list. Does anyone know what you have to do?

    Hidden Items on Translator

Go to the Auction House, find the song or item name that you want to display in the Auto-Translator and open up it's sales history. Then go put a bid of 1G in on it, and exit out of the AH list. Next, press [SPACE][TAB][UP ARROW] and open the "(items)" section in the Auto-Translator. You should find the complete translated name waiting in the wings for you. Things like "Cure IV" and "Blizzaga III" are amongst things that can be translated fully by the Auto Translator. Goodluck.

Another quirk along these lines... if you want to be able to shortcut-tab into the catagories themselve:, items, key items, and such... go into the top-level of the translator (hit tab without anything to complete, i.e. a space or nothing). Tab through (shift-tab to go backwards is far better for "items") and hit enter to go into the catagory.

Now if you type, for example, "item" .. and then hit tab, the [Item] catagory is one of your top-level choices. Moderatly useful if you are auto-tranlating several things from a catagory.

I think this works similiarly to the AH trick, in that the client seems to keep track of recently used/accessed/referened translatable terms, and temporarly adds them to the autotranslator.
