I hope this is the right forum for this, its a strange question.
Ok, my game has been having serious lag issues lately. Now I have two factors, my connection and my video card. Both are in need of upgrade.
The connection is coming soon though, but not the Video Card. Although now, its time to change that too..
The question I wanted to ask is which one of these two factors is to blame mostly for this type of lag I'm having. In crowded area's, and especially when in battle in crowded area's, the game pulls a "stop motion" kind of thing where the log becomes at least 15-20 seconds behind the actions, and all the action and the log freeze frames often, to the point of this stop motion like looking effect. It basically immobolizes me. Is this happening because of out of date video card? Or out of date connection speed?
I personally think its the card, because if it was the modem the screen wouldn't freeze frame like that, but I think would rather still move right but no actions from the monsters or characters would appear, like "Lag out" style, instead of just alltogether freeze.
I'm not too familiar with what effects this on computer's, so forgive me. But can anyone help me out and tell me what I should concentrate on first? My wallet is sort of being balanced right now, so I want to see weither I need just the connection, or weither it really is time to get a new video card. I believe my current card is. I think my card is NVIDIA GEForce 3, but I'm not sure if thats the program or the actual physical card. I'm sort of new to a lot of this.
