I've owned and played the PC version of FFXI for quite a while now, but being the lazy bum that I am......I decided to purchase the PS2 version of the game(27" TV, comfy couch, big speakers, what more could you want?). So I purchase the game, set it up following the directions to the letter, log in, and start playing in the comfort of my living room. Well, needless to say, within about a week the PS2 copy had stoped working almost entirely. I am still able log into POL, check my mail, message people, and what-not, but when I attempt to log into the world server I get an "FFXI-3001: No response from server, connection timed out" error. FFXI logs into the lobby server and appears to connect to the world but the screen just stays black with no aparent disk activity. I've done clean installs of both POL and FFXI, re-formatted the hard disk, and done everything short of hitting my PS2 with a hammer. What puzzles me, is that my PC still connects fine.......
