I have an English Win XP and I can type in the POL viewer but I can't type in the FFXI game........anyone know what's going on?

i had the same problem at first you got to set your computer as japanese. there is a form on the site that tells you how, but i dont know where it is. try looking around i am sure you will find it.:sweat:

I have a problem with typing the Japanese. I can do it on Windows and other applications, but when I'm in FFXI, and I hit alt + ~, nothing happens. This is when I've opened up the text box and am ready tp type. I was however, able to type in Japanese when I was in the game once, but ever since then, I haven't been able to.

does japanese IME is set to your default input?? if not then set it to default, and then try it again. (better remove the EN keyboard input)

I don't know what happened, but right after I posted this, I went into the game and I was able to type in Japanese.

Nevermind about what I just posted. I figured it out for good this time. I went into regional settings and Languages, and I found the hot keys for switching between English and Japanese. Thanks for the help though.

I can´t type japanese when playing FFXI

I can type Japanese only in POL´s messenger but it doesn´t work during the game. What should I do?:confused:
