OK this might have already been adressed but it's a long thred.
I tried to edit my registry but I could find 0003 and 0004 instead of 003 and 004. Thinking they were the same I changed them according to the first post.
Now I am able to only change the Overlay Graphics Reseloution to a higher mark and the Background Reseloution remains the same.
Was there an update or anything that changed the values, what should I edit to get the desired results.

Imagine the downtime though, with your computer trying to process those graphics that was previously not compatible with your system. I mean really....1024x1024 is enough as it is, but that's only my opinion.Elathia :: Hume :: Female :: San d'Oria rank 7 :: WHM70 | BLM52 | RDM24 | THF15 >> Cerberus //Retired

I think it's better to look at it this way: If you're running at 120 fps with 1024 (hypothetically) why not increase the detail even further and run at 60 fps? It really does make a noticable difference bumping it up from 1024 to anything above that, so it's worth the tradeoff in the end, even if your PC suffers a bit in large areas.

I need a little help with this. I have 9800pro and enough pc power to do this but I'm using a 15" LCD with 1240x740 or something like that. Since my monitor is limited is there a point to doing this? If so which setting should I pick?Stabba, Stab, Stabby!

Your monitor is independant of this adjustment. You can set the textures to 2048 resolution and have your monitor display them at 1024.
Think of it like a digital picture. If you take a small picture and blow it up to twice the size, it looks horrible. If you take a large image and shrink it down to 50%, you have much more detail contained within. It's the same deal here. The higher you go, the more quality you'll get out of your picture at whatever resolution you choose to run the game.
