Today, my Dynamis shell prepped to enter Dynamis-Bastok at 5pm eastern. Today, we were unable to because someone had entered before us. We'd sent tells to the alliance inside, only to recieve no replies. After a while, the only american players in said alliance replied when they had about a half-hour left. We had the option of going to other areas to do Dynamis, but instead risking stepping on other shlls' plans, we simply waited with our thumbs up our asses while a gilseller shell who completely ignores http://tshot.org/forums/calendar.php takes our spot in Dynamis(okay, supposed gilsellers, but when you see twenty Taru BLMs and two or three others, the writing is on the wall), with nothing we can do about it. One thing that went through my head was that I'd been present as another LS had done this, cutting in line, and that while many groups are more or less courteous, it still happens distrubingly often.
What also went through my head was that perhaps if large-scale events were scheduled and coordinated through an offical POL site or calendar that, in the event of a violation, we might have grounds to complain and see administrative justice from a GM or such. However since all such events(Dynamis, HNM, Gods, Limbus), are coordinated outside Square-Enix's auspices, we have no recourse against individuals who cut in line or steals claims or some such.
So my suggestion is the introduction of an official POL site/calendar through which to coordinate larger-scale events such as Dynamis, this way, any violations of scheduled events will not escape S-E's notice, and perhaps be dealt with accordingly.
