Summon... Chocobo?!

  • Summon... Chocobo?!

    With all the new Chocobo Breeding stuff flying around, I thought it might be nice to ressurect the traditional 1st level summon--the Chocobo, and throw summoners a bone--since, after all, most of them are looking for one anyway. Of course, most Summoners are looking for a DD Bone so that "Summon" becomes the New "Black", so to speak.

    The "Chocobo" summon would be similar to a spirit rather than an avatar, since obviously a chocobo is not some luminous godling, but a bird. Obviously, it would have an ability that normals spirits don't--Ride, and at 2 + 1 per 4.5 levels, this Chocobo would be nice, but very short duration. Of course...what does a Chocobo "do" in battle remains the big question. Maybe it doesn't do anything but peck and kick? Perhaps instead of making a "death" animation for it, just play the "Chocobo runs away" animation at 0hp.

    Y'know how in FF7, the summon was called "Choco Mog" , and it would someone either Chocobos, Moogles (or something, It's been awhile), or the Fat Chocobo?

    Okay, and in FF Tactics Advance, the moogles had a class called Mog Knight? (I'm going somewhere with this, rest assured)

    What if we combine the two, and have a summoning spell called something like Mogri Knight pact? The chocobo could peck, the Mog Knight could attack and provide the 'magic' blood abilities, and maybe, just maybe, placate the people wanting Chocobo Knight as a class in the process?

    If Gilgamesh weren't already a character in FFXI, I'd love to see a summon of the Multi-Armed Many-Sworded Gilgamesh... Astral Flow Gilgamesh... oops, Excali-poor!
