  • Teleport NPCs.

Would you consider putting a PC that will teleport a person for a set amount of gil. I know a White Mage can make some good gil for giving out teles. But for most White Mages, they can make much more money farming and crafting than they can by teleporting.

I have been harassed and berated many times for teleport spells from people who are getting antsy.

White Mages hate this, especially when they're doing something.

One example, I was looking for a party one day, when I got a /tell...

    RandomPerson>> {Hello!} {Teleport-Altepa}{Can I have it?}
    >>Me {I'm sorry, I'm busy now.} {Looking for party.}
    RandomPerson>> .........

I get this kind of crap all the time. If a person is antsy for a teleport, there should be a solution to this.

    My solution:

Why not put an NPC you can ask for any of the available teleport spells for a set amount of gil.

Make it like 10,000 to 15,000 per teleport, so that way, lower level White Mages can tele taxi for good gil, while having no competition from the NPCs. Also, at the same time, if somebody is in a rush for a teleport, the NPC will be right there and they don't have to wait asking random people who are busy for teleports.

    Re: Teleport NPCs.

A few hours earlier I was doing teles and it was fairly difficult to invite people since they were getting invited to parties so quickly. Until I learned about /pcmd add [name] which got me quite a few :D. The only teles I see go unanswered are Tele-Yhoat and Tele-Altepa. I don't think a lot of people bother getting those. But to the point, most people don't have to wait a long time before getting a Tele so there's really no need for an NPC except for Tele-Yhoat or Tele-Altepa.

        Re: Teleport NPCs.

I like this idea. SE took a right step when they added the Teleport-xxx Rings, but their lv 65+. Now, lets combine those with the Warp Tarutarus...

The problem is they can't be free, or WHM teleports will be obsolete. And if their to much, people will beg for teleports anyway. The problem is finding the right balance...

I know! Add Scrolls of Instant Teleport to the conquest NPCs, like the scrolls of instant warp. Make the fee Conquest Points(or in the case of Al Zhabi, Imperial Standing) so that way even lowbies can afford it!

          Re: Teleport NPCs.

Onion~dude makes a great suggestion with the Instant Scroll of Teleport-BLAH. This would be very helpful, and make it along the same lines as Scroll or Reraise and Warp. (750 CP, right?) We could use these in a pinch for those times when it seems that nobody is doing the Tele-Taxi at that time. I know I've had to offer 8k for a Teleport one night to get somebody who was doing something else as one job, switch to WHM/BLM just to get the 8k from me.

If they did this for gil though, this would be a great gil sink, but they couldn't make it 10k to 15k. It'd have to be much lower. I'd say 8k max, and it would be a way to get gil off the server since the change to the Chicken prices went down.

That is the reason I proposed the CP method. Though for gil, say 10k, mabye a NPC could teleport you to Dunes, Bubu, or Quifm.

We don't want to make access to areas too easy. Instant teleports for rank 5 and up would be good. Lowbies are supposed to work their asses off for a reason. >:D

Edit: (I meant the scrolls that you buy, of course)

                Re: Teleport NPCs.

                So we already have...
                Teleport rings (expensive)
                Outpost teleportation (cheap)
Return and homing rings (free with conquest points)
Scroll of Instant Warp and warp cudgel (conquest points and cheap, respectively)
Ducal guard's ring (free with PMs, but limited charges)
                Tavnazian ring (free with PMs)
Olduum ring (free with easy quest)
Staging points (small amount of IS, once you've done them once)
Warp taru in Al Zahbi (if not kidnapped) and his brother in Whitegate (imperial currency is cheap)
                Ships (very cheap)
                Airships (very cheap)
Chocobos (now including an Al Zahbi stable; cheap)
(soon) Chocobo Whistle (possibly working in Beau/Xarc/Uleg, Teriggan, Lufaise/Misareaux, Caedarva? They are all outdoor zones after all...)
Warp, escape and some teleports castable through SJ (free obviously)

and you want more ways to get from place to place that don't depend on another player? Sheesh...

I'd like an efficient way to get to sky (a real outpost instead of just the flag would be great, saving a lot of very repetitive running through Ro'Maeve), but aside from that, transportation is already really easy in this game. If you're having trouble with it, I think you're just lazy or have too short an attention span.
Defeated: Maat, Divine Might, Fenrir, Kirin, Cactrot Rapido, Xolotl, Diabolos Prime, Kurrea, 9/10 Dynamis Bosses (missing Tav), Promathia, Proto-Ultima, Proto-Omega, 4 Jailers, Apocalypse Nigh, 6/6 Nyzul Bosses
                RDM90, PLD90, DRG90, COR90, SCH90, BLU54
All Nations Rank 10, ZMs & PMs Complete, AUMs Complete, Captain, Nyzul Floor 100 (5 Weapons, 4 WS), Medal of Altana, WotG Mission 15, 1/3 Addons Complete, 9/9 Abyssea Main Quests, 6/6 Caturae

I think the methods of transportation in this game are fairly good. What I'm complaining about is the genetically deficient people who spam me for teleports while I'm crafting or at the AH. After I tell them I'm busy, they give me attitudes. That's why I'm asking if SE would consider this. So these assholes won't bitch and complain when I don't tele them.

There are teleport NPCs. They can be found in your hometown and will teleport you to an outpost.

Try to understand what I'm saying here....

I'm talking about NPCs who will teleport you to the crags. This way, WHMs won't be pestered with unrelenting tells about teles when they're busy.

It's NOT an outpost, it's not a Warp to Jeuno Taru. It's an NPC that offers TELEPORT SPELLS.

The outpost teleport NPCs don't get enough traffic as it is.

That's because the level restrictions often make it useless for people to use them during exp sessions. It's great for travel later on, most definitely. I use them all the time. But if they were to adjust some of the level restrictions on them, I think we'd see more people getting into to using them.

Problem is you are always going to have those people, doesn't matter what you try. If you make it a 10k gil for a teleport from NPC they'll just still bother WHMs because the don't want to pay that price if they can get it cheaper from players.

It's a catch-22 if you make the prices resonable were players of that type don't mind then the WHM players loose a money source. If you make the price high then they'll never really be used and it solved nothing.

Haha! Spiritbear I know that comment, it's from "The Shawshank Redemption".
